Stony Brook University

Today we visited Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York. As a group we traveled to Stony Brook by taking the LIRR at 61-Woodside. The ride was about a hour and a half long. When we arrived at the school, we visited the Student Activity Center. The school store was located inside the activity center and there was also a information desk for visitors. As we were exiting the building we saw a group of girls having a tea party in celebration of their friends birthday. During our time in Stony Brook we also visited their gymnasium, book store, library, and the health center buildings. I liked these buildings because they were very clean and well kept. The book store and library was very helpful ans had all resources students needed. There were also signs hung up around campus, in many different languages which was another thing I liked about the college. As we walked around campus I realized that there is not a large diversity of race. The university mainly consist of White and Asian students, which is one reason why I would not apply to Stony Brook. Overall I liked the college because it is clean and seems to have more than enough resources for their students.
