Queens College

On May 11, 2012 we visited Queens College which is located in Flushing, N.Y.At first we were planning on going to St.John's, but our bus had not arrived and neither did our tour guide who is an alum from the Renaissance Charter School. We then decided to go to Queens College because it allows self-guided tours. In order to get to Queens College, we first took the 7 train towards Flushing and stopped at the last stop which is Main Street. We later walked to the bus stop to get the Q34 or the Q25 bus. It took us about a hour and thirty to reach Queens College. When we reached the campus, we visited the Science Building, Powdermaker Hall, Delany Hall, and the Rosenthal Hall. It was really easy to get to the different buildings. The Library was really nice and it had 3 floors with an open rooftop. I liked that in the Library there was a floor with little cubes that you could study quietly in peace. Furthermore, I think that the campus was racially diverse. The average GPA you need to achieve in order to get into Queens College is a 2.9 and for the SAT’s you need a score of 510 for the math and as for the English 475.  In addition, I found out that the popular majors are Accounting, Psychology, General Economics, General English, Language and literature, and sociology.I would not apply to this school because I think that there are other colleges that can help me achieve my career.
