Lehman College

On May 9th, my Rensizzle group traveled to Lehman College in Bronx, New York. The school bus picked us up in front of Renaissance at 11 am. It was about a 30 minute ride on the Triboro Bridge. When we arrived at the school, we waited at the entrance for an alumni who was giving us the tour of the school. During our wait  we were making observations of the school.Near the entrance they have a swimming pool, tennis court and basketball court.   There are many neighboring high schools around Lehman. Enrique informed us that many high school students choose to hang out inside and around the college campus.
Enrique also informed us about some basic guidelines of college. He explained that being late to class and not talking are very important. The teachers have very little tolerance for disruption during their class and they have no problem with asking a student to leave the classroom. He also made it clear that in the long run Maura's class was very helpful for him because it made it easier to understand college level reading. Enrique suggested that we look at our teachers backgrounds so that we can know a little about them and their studies.
One of the very few things I liked about the college was that it was very diverse. From the time spent on the campus I saw a little bit of everyone and I liked that. I also like that they give free STD test at least twice a week. I thought that was very cool and it shows that they care about students health. Overall my experience at Lehman College was nothing that sparked my interest.
